CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Freshman Garrett Beaman of the St. Olaf wrestling team placed seventh at the NCAA Division III Championships this afternoon at the U.S. Cellular Center.

After an early loss yesterday, Beaman worked his way up the bracket. He ended up losing a close 9-8 decision match to Joshua Sibblies of Centenary this morning and found himself in the seventh place match versus Doug Hamann of The College of New Jersey.

Beaman pinned Hamann in 1 minute and 11 seconds for the win and seventh place finish.
